#6 Antigua & Barbuda

We’re finished eating and for the first time the music we played at dinner is still playing well after the meal is over and Jack is dancing around the kitchen. The music definitely seemed to be the favorite part of our first Caribbean meal!

Tonight’s dinner was Fungee and Pepperpot, which is the national dish of Antigua & Barbuda. It's another stew type meal and we're learning that stews really seem to be the "use what you have" approach to cooking world wide. We made a vegetarian version and it was OK. Nobody was a huge fan. Fungee is basically cornmeal and okra, and has a polenta-like consistency. We had it cold but based on some later research I wonder if that would have been better warm. I also don't think we had quite the right pepperpot to fungee ratio.

All in all we all felt that this was firmly in the "OK" camp. Everyone gave it 6/10.

We're going to tackle Argentina later this week hopefully!
