#13 - Bahrain

We have discovered that rice features in ALOT of national dishes. And Bahrain was no exception. Tonight we had Machboos ala Dajaj. Which was basically chicken & rice. Granted it was really really good rice, with more spices than I think I’ve ever put in one thing before. In fact, we even dry roasted and ground some spices which made the house smell pretty darn good!

We had to find and make a trip to a Persian grocery store to find loomi, which we discovered is a must-have in middle eastern cooking. Loomi are limes which have been boiled and the dried in the sun. In keeping with the rest of our meal, the fragrance from them was amazing (And because I had to buy a box, I have 6 more if anyone is looking for some 😊)
